The world's smallest snowman

Remember I promised you to show you how badly dressed poor Pytte was on HER winter photos? I fell like SUCH a bad dollie mama for this! *blushes* LOL This was the winter of 2008 and a lot warmer than this winter though and pukis seems to be a hardy breed because Pytte doesn't look to be nearly as frozen as poor Agnes. She even took the time to build the world smallest snowman. (He really WAS small, if you're not familiar with pukis they're about 10cm high)

Poor Pytte, look at her bare arms and legs! But she IS cute!

The world's tiiiiiniest snowman!

Afterwards Pytte curled up in Isa's lap to get warm

BTW, I've decided to join a really small grouporder (a group of two LOL) to get some new hands for Agnes (You didn't actually think I could post en entire entry without mentioning her , did you? LOL) I've never been too fond of her right hand, the pose is too unnatural and rigid and I find it hard to pose her right arms on photos because of this, so now when Fairyland decided to sell hand separately I just have to get her a better hand.

Cold winter snow!

The winter's been really cold in Sweden this year (and well, last year as well since it began around Christmas) Some places have had as cold as down below -40°C/-40°F *shiver, shiver, shiver* but we've only had around -15°C/5°F here. I've wanted to take snow photos of Agnes on the balcony but I've been a bit worried that it would be too cold for her resin but when the temperature rose to a balmy -9°C/15.8°F the other day we decided to take a chance.

Poor little Agnes doesn't have any winter clothes of her own so she borrowed Isa's cape and scarf. They were a little bit too big for her an restricted her movements so she wasn't able to play that much in the snow. Not that she looked like she WANTED to play. The poor little thing looked like she froze even more than me. LOL

I should really make her some proper winter clothes, in fact all my girls need better clothes for this season. But I guess it comes down to the fact that I'm doing most of my sewing during the warmer half of the year since my health is much better then and I'm not that inspired to sew winter clothes in the summer. But at least Agnes had proper boots and she also wore her hot pink panty hose (the white you can see is NOT her skin but the fluffy part of her boots) You should see poor Pytte freezing on the balcony the last winter. (In fact that might me something to show for the next update)

A new year and a new computer!!!

Guess what???? I got a brand new computer from my family for Christmas!!!! I SO didn't expect this (we usually don't give this expensive gifts) but it was VERY much appreciated. So now I'm back again with a fully functioning computer (the old one suffered from both hardware and software problems and refused to work in the end) which means that I will hopefully be able to update the blog a bit more often again. And to celebrate the new year and the fact that I've now got a gigantonormous screen I've decided to mage the blog lay out a bit bigger.

Agnes has spent a lot of time helping me out with the new computer and just in general keeping me company. She suspect she's to be turning in to my favorite doll (which doesn't feel fair to the other two dolls that I also love a lot) She's just the perfect size, she poses REALLY well (I just love Fairyland bodies) and she's also really, really sweet.

But well, allowing your dolls to get too computer-savvy can have its downsides too. LOL

Agnes: Look what I have gotten for Christmas!!! It's really, really pretty!
Me: And here I thought all the time that it was my Christmas gift...
Agnes: Nope!!!

She's been quite helpful though

Agnes: You should install the things from the USB-drive now. I know you've got pattern for LittleFee clothes there
Me: When did you learn words like USB-drive???

Agnes: I want one of those! Can I have one of those? Please, please, pleeeeeeease?
Me: I'm sorry sweetie but that's a Fairyland event head and we're not going to buy anything from Fairyland at the moment.

Uh oh!!!!!!!! I knew I shouldn't have left her alone at the computer!!!

Me:Agnes!!!! You're not trying to log in to my Paypal account, are you?
Agnes: Nope!!! Nuh uh! Not me!

Agnes:I'm so, so innocent! I'm was only going to help! I promise! Can't you see how sweet and innocent I am?

Second Advent

I know, lots of Advent photos lately but that comes with the season.

My three girls celebrating 2nd Advent

I love the glow on their faces

An attempt to show the star shaped lantern. (flash=cheating LOL)

~¤*¤*¤~

And a bit off topic, but since I showed her last Sunday and since I cherish every day and every photo;

My little sick kitty (After dental surgery and biopsy, the
pink thing is just a collar) She's got blue eyes IRL. LOL

Unfortunately the vet called me this morning to tell me that the biopsy showed a tumor as well (on top of the dental abscess). :o( Her general condition is still vet good so far so it's not quite time to say goodbye yet. But all I can do now is to love her a lot, watch her health closely, and cherish ever day we'll get.

~¤*¤*¤~

I'm WAY behind with my secret projects at the moment. Both my own health problems and my kitty's have left no time or energy for secret projecting. The recipients of said projects have of course been warned about getting really late Christmas gifts but we've know each other for many years so they're well aware of my health problems and limitations. I still look forward to finish things though, it will turn out lovely in the end.

Advent 2008

Here's the 2008 photos as I promised. If you ask me they all (eh well, ALMOST all LOL) turned out better than the one from last Sunday. But it's fun to spit the changes in my living room and doll family.

1st Advent

2nd Advent

3rd Advent

4th Advent

To quote what I posted at BJF: "Well, what can I say, the photographer
got a little shaky when one of the cats jumped up next to the candles. LOL
The blob next to the exotic flames is said cat. LOL"

First of Advent

In Sweden it's common to light a new "Advent-candle" each Sunday before Christmas and celebrate with glögg*, saffron buns and gingerbread cookies and last Sunday was First of Advent. Since I took photos of my doll family with the candles last year I decided to do the same this year as well. (extremely blurriness is just to expect in this case since I don't use flash and it's DARK, it's part of the charm and atmosphere.)

Well, I cheated here and used the "party lights" setting on my
camera so it uses a bit of flash. The candles on the TV are electric
(Note the kitten in the corner LOL)

This one is taken in only the light of the candle on the table, the
candles on the TV and an "advent star" lantern hanging in the window.

This cat is easier to spot (don't worry, I'm VERY careful with cats
and burning candles) She's been sick lately and if feels important
to include this photo even if she's hopefully getting better now.

I will do my best to post the Advent photos from 2008 as well later, but it all depends on my health. You can see bigger versions of the photos at Ball Jointed Friends (as well as take a sneak peak of the 2008 photos)

*Glögg is a very traditional Swedish Christmas beverage, the "adult" version is heated, spiced up wine and the "kid" version that I drink is usually based on blackcurrant juice instead

Spampy clothes!!!

Yay!!! Yesterday I got my Spampy clothes!!! As you might remember I got a gift certificate to Spampy Stuff from my friends and now the clothes have arrived. And of course they're really, really cute and really well made.

The photos are a bit "less than cute" though. I'm sure you'll soon get tired of me complaining of "lack of light" at this time of the year, but ot really is the truth (if you've ever visited Sweden in November you will know what I mean). This time the flash decide to act up as well so most of the photos ended up quite dark and strange, instead of really bright and over exposed which is a more common problem with white dolls. I've been able to fix them up a bit in Psp but I REALLY need a better camera (6 years is OLD in the world of digital cameras) But anyway, just focus on the lovely dresses instead of the crappy photo quality and you'll be fine. LOL

First an adorable cure little cardigan for Pytte
(The dress is by me)

Pytte absolutely LOVES it and now she demands that I sew her a longer, purple dress with less width in the skirt to go with the cardigan.

BTW, those lovely hair clips were a surprise gift from Spampy. I'm THIS close of stealing them from my dolls to use for myself. LOL

The rest of the stuff were for "the Spoiled One".. eh, I mean Agnes. LOL

A wonderful cardigan (the black details were Spampy's own initiative which of course is JUST right for Agnes and I'm a sucker for details like the black ribbon on the front edge) and some really cute little undies with tiny hearts (I really want my dolls to wear proper underwear) and some striped stockings. These aren't supposed to be a full set though, she's supposed to wear more clothes as well. LOL

A lovely little knit dress with star patterns and
sparkly tulle + the striped socks (necklace by me)

This is a dress in woven fabric with silver skulls. Perfect for Agnes!
I love how the collar turned out and the little ribbon at the waist.

She's also wearing a pair of surprise pantyhose that matches the cardigan

Isn't this knit fabric just right for Agnes with both
skulls, roses and hearts? Pure love!

The striped fabric is the same as the stockings.
I love the ribbon used for the neckline

My sweet little girls together!

I'm very pleased with everything (except the photo quality LOL). Thank you Asneth, Dustbunnie and Spampy!!!

Now I need to create something for poor left out Isa... I just need to finish some Christmas gifts first... and yes Pytte, I WILL make you that dress... SOME day. LOL

Pretty in Pink

Remember that the dresses where a bit too big for Agnes? Not much of a surprise actually since I sew with a very small seam allowance which makes it a bit tricky when I use some one else's pattern with seam allowance included.

I've fixed both dresses now though but I've only got photos of the pink one so far. The lack of sunlight (or even proper daylight) makes it hard to take photos at this time of the year. Some of these photos turned out a bit dull, dark and blurry even though it was a petty decent day considering the season. It was really fun taking photos of Agnes though. She poses sooooooo well. I love that little girl!

(Photos of Agnes in the black & white dress will come later)

Ooooh, this looks interesting!

Oufff! Oummffff! Phew! *climb*

Ta daaaaa! Made it!

(Socks, dress and necklace by me, dress pattern by Sweetiemom and sock pattern by Melancholy Wings)

Isabelle by the sea

While waiting for Agnes to arrive I thought I could show you some photos from a photo hot that Isa and I did by the shore of the Baltic Sea something like a month or so after I'd gotten her.

The dress is the first thing I made for her after she'd arrived. It was just thought to be a mock up to try out the design but I realized I liked those colors so much on her that I decided to finish the dress. There's something with that dress that really fits Isa very well and that gave me a clue to her taste and style (a lot different from the white, flowy fairy style dresses I had in mind for her)

The first photo really capture the dreamer in Isa and the fourth one is one of my favorites of all photos I've taken. It's RIGHT by the water, her feet almost got wet.

On the last photo we're just resting together in the car after the hard work.

I LOVED doing this photoshot. It's really fun to take your dolls outside for a photshot "in the wild" and the Baltic Sea is a great background prop. LOL But it was also EXTREMELY hard and painful for me physically to do because of my health problems. I had to rest for a while in the car before I was capable of even driving home, when I came back home I could hardly moved and it knocked me out for pretty much a week.

I would like to take a lot more outdoors photoshots of my dolls and especially by the ocean in Isa's case (the sea shore where I live is such a dramatic landscape and Isa loves the ocean) but it's a struggle to find places that isn't too much of a strain on my health. This one was, but maybe that makes me love the photos even more, I struggled to take them and it's a once in a life time thing (at least at that particular spot).
